PHP Webquest at the XII International Congress of Educational Informatics

We have been presenting PHP Webquest at the Educational Informatics Congress held at the UNED Headquarters in Madrid every year for 12 years, thanks to the continued efforts of professors Catalina Alonso and Domingo Gallego. It must be said that this Congress is better organized every year and that the quantity (120!) And the quality of the presentations is also constantly growing, setting up one of the mandatory appointments for those who want to be up to date with what is happening in the world of Educational Informatics both in Spain and in the rest of Europe and Latin America, so we want to congratulate the organizers of the Congress, both for its organizational capacity and for its human quality, which makes all attendees feel at home.

Regarding our presentation, to say that the attending public seemed to be interested in the proposal of a free and free program with the characteristics of PHP Webquest. The most interesting of all was, without a doubt, the improvement suggestions made by some of the attendees, which we point here so that we do not forget that we have them on the list of pending improvements (which by the way, does not stop growing: – )):

  • Possibility of putting, in addition to page background colors, background images. It does not seem difficult to implement, although it may be used appropriately by end-users. We will try to put it for the next version.
  • Possibility of adding certain pages to the existing introduction pages, tasks, etc. They would be some such as, for example, acknowledgments, bibliography, pedagogical suggestions, etc. This is a bit more work, but the truth is that it is a recurring request from users and we want to make it available to you as soon as possible.
  • Possibility of exporting the activities created to other formats such as .ppt or .zip It is not particularly complicated either, we will try to take time to start it.

Well, it seems that we already have work for the summer :-). We’ll see if it can be done. By the way, it would not be bad for a Public Institution to sign up to give a little hand in the form of programmers. So far no one has offered to help, but maybe in the future we will, who knows.

By the way, we have made some interactive support tutorials for those attending the Congress, for which you can find a link in the main menu of this website. Despite being videos, they are very easy to follow and can be repeated and reverted at any time.
